Welcome to Toads & Roads .

This is my blog. Here I will try to maintain a sense of humor and fairness. It might not always be possible but I will try, I really will.
Sometimes I may be sarcastic. That is what it is. Not asking you to like it or appreciate it but know that I will sometimes say exactly what I think.
Your choice to read, agree or disagree.

When I keep quiet and walk away, don't think you've won. I walked away because you weren't worth my time.

Caribbean Bound - Four States-02

Wednesday, February 18th, we woke to a beautiful day.  Until now the weather was a bit unsettled and cool.  It still stayed cool at night but the days were warm..
We discovered while planning our day that we could conceivably get a 4 state day but it would require a detour down a dirt road as there really was only one option as we headed for Arkansas.   So we set out for Aloft's Circle 30 It really wasn't much of a detour but we have discovered on this trip so far is that here is no different than at home.  Clues, size, etc are a perception not a rule.  Therefore this one took us a tad longer than it should have when it was right in front of our face.
We continued on and entered Arkansas with our first cache in Foremen.  We headed south down 41 with numerous stops.

Our final stop in Arkansas was  Where's the Bacon?  Here I was expecting a pig and got?  A whale...lol guardians in Arkansas...

We reentered Texas just across the bridge form the previous cache and discovered an ammo and a photo op right beside the Welcome To Texas sign....Yeah
We reentered Arkansas in Texarkana were we proceeded to take in some local landmarks.

A foot in each state

We now headed south on 49 towards Louisiana our 4th state of the day...Stooped for gas and we just had to take in the local legend in Fouke  The Legend of Boggy Creek

A detour off of the highway down a side road netted us our first cache in LA.  From that point on we were heading towards Shreveport where we picked up anther cache in Chicane.  I must say that staying off the main highway and taking secondary roads is far more interesting..At SHARKS! which turned out to be a RC base complete with pond runway....
Stopped for a late lunch and were told we had an accent!!  Imagine that!!!  But what a friendly bunch pf people we have met so far....
